"Olá, hello, allo, musicians of activist brass bands,
At a time when ever-increasing economic and social inequalities are exacerbating tensions and making the lives of dominated classes and social groups increasingly unbearable;
At a time when, despite increasingly pressing environmental challenges, the powerful continue to disrupt, deplete and destroy nature in a frenzied race for profit;
At a time when colonial and imperialist war has regained all its fervour, decimating Ukrainian and Russian soldiers for more than two years, and making us powerless spectators of the genocide of the Palestinian people – all of this with the economic and military support of the Western powers;
At a time when governments are using ever more brutal means against their own populations and when any alternative or contradictory voice is systematically silenced;
In short, at a time when, supported by the dominant media, neoliberalism and neo-fascism are converging to fuel the authoritarianism of the powerful and overturn values of justice and democracy;
We feel the pressing desire and the imperative need to meet you (again) to forge or strengthen our bonds of solidarity and to stand together in the common borderless struggles we are waging, with great fanfare, against authoritarianism and violence and for social and environmental justice.
That's why, following on from previous meetings held in Paris, Rome, Milan, Innsbruck in, we are renewing the initiative and inviting you to an international meeting of militant brass bands in Paris from 1 to 4 May 2025, to coincide with International Workers' Day.
We'll soon be sending details of the hectic and joyful programme for the 4 days (rehearsals, workshops, events, concerts, assembly, etc.).
Musical and activist greetings from the musicians of the Fanfare invisible"
